Cougar Park Campground Washington
Cougar Park Overview
Cougar Park Campground offers 44 tent-only campsites set in a heavily forested area next to Yale Reservoir in Washington. A group site with 15 tent campsites is also available. All sites are for ground tents only (tent trailers or RVs are not permitted). Each site has a parking spur, table, fire ring and grill.
the seasonal campground is generally open late May to early September. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush toilets, hot-water showers and trash collection. A boat ramp, boat trailer lot, day use/ picnic area and swim beach are also next to the campground.
You might also like Beaver Bay (next to Yale Reservoir) or Cresap Bay Campground (over next to Lake Merwin). Both are located neear Yale Reservoir.
Cougar Park Campground – Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, paddle-boarding, swimming, water sports, fishing, biking and wildlife viewing. The campground also provides access to the Beaver Bay hiking trail, while numerous additional trails and outdoor destinations are available throughout the Mount St. Helens area.
Cougar Park makes a convenient base for exploring the south side of Mount St. Helens. Popular nearby destinations include Ape Cave, Lava Canyon, and trails in the surrounding Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
