Cresap Bay Overview

Cresap Bay Campground has 56 spacious single-family campsites set in a forested area next to beautiful Lake Merwin in southwest Washington. Group camping (15 sites) is also available.

Managed by PacifiCorp, the recreation area combines overnight camping with a swimming beach, boat launch, marina access, and day-use facilities. It is located near Amboy and is reached from Interstate 5 via Washington State Route 503.

The seasonal campground is generally open late May to late September. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, restrooms with flush toilets and hot-water showers, trash collection and an RV dump station. There’s also a marina (with 23 boat slips), boat ramp, boat trailer lot, a picnic/day use area and swim beach. Cell service is fair in the area.

Campsites are large and can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. Hookups are not available.

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, paddle-boarding, swimming, water sports, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wild life viewing.

You might also like Cougar Park Campground. It offers tent-only camping on the shores of nearby Yale Reservoir. Beaver Bay Campground is also over next to Yale Reservoir
