Fort Spokane Campground Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area Washington

Fort Spokane Overview

Fort Spokane Campground has 68 spacious campsites set among towering pines and near the confluence of the Spokane River and the Columbia River (Lake Roosevelt).  It’s also next to the grounds of a former military fort.  The campground is open year-round, however water is shut off during the winter months.

Lake Roosevelt is a 130-mile lake of the Columbia River created by the Grand Coulee Dam. Named after President Franklin D. Roosevelt, it is part of the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area and managed by the National Park Service.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Sites 64-68 are walk-to (tent only) and are about 80-120 feet from the parking area. Hookups are not available. Each site also has a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill.

Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush toilets, vault toilets, trash collection and a dump station. There’s also a boat ramp, boat trailer lot, picnic / day use area and playground. The Fort Spokane Visitor Center and Museum are also located just across the highway. Firewood is available to purchase from the camp host (site #1).  Cell service is fair in the area.
