Kettle Falls Locust Grove Group Site Overview

Locust Grove Group Campground has 2 large group sites campsites and is about 1,000 feet from the shore of Lake Roosevelt (Columbia River). It is also at the historic townsite of Old Kettle Falls. Kettle Falls Campground (with 75 single-family sites) and the marina/boat launch is .25 miles away.

Group Site A can accommodate up to 75 people and 30 vehicles. Group Site B can have up to 50 people and 25 vehicles. Trailers and RVs are allowed. Each group sites has multiple tables, BBQs, fire pits/rings and areas for tent camping. Each also has a covered area for tables.

The group campground is generally open mid March to mid November.  Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush toilets, vault toilets, trash collection and a dump station. There is also a marina, boat ramp, boat trailer lot, day use picnic area and fish cleaning stations. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host at Kettle Falls Campground. Cell service is good in the area.

Locust Grove Group Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, water sports, hiking, biking and picnicking. The area is also abundant with wildlife, including moose, elk, deer and bald eagles.

The Kettle Falls area is rich in the history of American Indians as well as the fur trade; campers can learn more at the park visitor center less than 10 miles away.

The historic St. Paul’s Mission, which is run by the National Park Service, is located about two miles from campground. Also in the area are Fort Colville and the Hudson Bay Company Post on the Upper Columbia.

Other campgrounds in the area include Marcus Island, Snag Cove, Kamloops Island and Haag Cove.
