Windy Point Campground Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Washington
A fire burned through the area in 2024 and much of the trees and vegetation in the photos are gone. The campground is open and does take reservations. We hope to get new photos of the campground/campsites in the near future.
Windy Point Overview
Windy Point Campground has 15 single-family campsites and is located along the banks of the beautiful Tieton River in Wenatchee National Forest. There’s some great fishing and hiking in the area. It’s also a popular spot for river rafting and kayaking.
Campground amenities include potable (drinking) water and delightful vault toilets. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (parking spurs range from 16 to 42 feet long). Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate.
Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking, rafting, kayaking, picnicking, horseback riding, hunting, OHVing and wildlife viewing. A few popular trails in the area include Frost Mountain Lookout, Keenan Meadows and Gray Rock.
You might also like Hause Creek campground, also next to the Tieton River.

We spent a delightful and relaxing two nights here in July 2021. Site # 9 right on the River complete w/waterfall view. 30 ft RV Roomy spots and hood spacing. Out of the way but worth the journey.
Aspen Grove Campground has 53 campsites and is located above the Solider Creek section of beautiful Strawberry Reservoir.
This campground was ravaged by fire in 2024. The photos for this site are out of date as many of the sites are now surrounded by burn, without shade. These sites are still reservable with no information about them being in a burn site.
For example, we picked site 11. Everything left of the picknic table is fully burned forest.
Thanks for the heads up Keith. Very sad about the fire. We put up a notice regarding the changes as a result of the fire. I’ll see if we can schedule a photographer to reshoot the campground soon.
Nice camp by the river. Quiet enough even with close hwy.
Site 9 was great. Most sites not affected by fire and still have shade.
