Jess Judy Overview

Jess Judy Group Campground has 3 group campsites and is located in beautiful Smoke Hole Canyon next to the South Branch of the Potomac River. The campground is in the northern portion of the Monongahela National Forest, boasting beautiful old growth trees that become vibrant with color in fall.

All three group sites can accommodate up to 20 vehicles and 40 people. Amenities include picnic tables, lantern posts, fire rings, BBQ pedestals, 4 single-vault toilets and trash collection (dumpsters). Potable (drinking) water is not available but you can fill up over at nearby Big Bend Campground. Cell service is also not available.

Jess Judy Group Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

The river is located 200 feet from campground and is open for fishing and non-motorized boat use.  A one mile loop trail is available for hiking at the campground and 60 miles of backcountry trails are located close by in the Seneca Creek Backcountry as well as the trails located in Smoke Hole Canyon. Other activities include kayaking, paddle boarding, mountain biking, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Big Bend Campground is also just 1.5 miles away and has 46 single-family campsites.
