Mojave National Preserve California

Mojave National Preserve Overview

Mojave National Preserve is located in the Mojave Desert region of South California. The area offers a diverse mosaic of ecological habitats and a 10,000 year history of human connection with the desert. Offering extensive opportunities to experience desert landscapes, the preserve promotes understanding and appreciation for the increasingly threatened resources of the Mojave Desert.

Camping is first-come, first-serve at both the Hole-in-the-Wall and Mid Hills Campgrounds. Black Canyon Group & Equestrian Campground is also available (near Hole-in-the-Wall). Afton Canyon campground is also within the Mojave National Preserve, but managed by the BLM.

Park Headquarters is located about 90 minutes away from the Mojave National Preserve’s attractions
