National Forests in North Carolina includes four diverse national forests covering more than 1.2 million acres, stretching from the Appalachian Mountains to the Atlantic Coast. These forests offer some of the best outdoor recreation in the Southeast, including hiking, fishing, boating, wildlife viewing, mountain biking, off-road trails, and camping. The four forests are the Pisgah National Forest, Nantahala National Forest, Uwharrie National Forest, and Croatan National Forest.
