Forked Pine Overview

Forked Pine Campground is located on the eastern shores of Ashurst Lake in the Coconino National Forest in a remote area of Northern Arizona. There are about 25 campsites scattered along the shoreline. Most are good for tent/car camping. A few will work for RVs and trailers (up to 32 feet).

The campground is generally open early May to mid October. Amenities include water (seasonal) and vault toilets. There is also a (primitive) boat ramp for small boats. Cell service is not available. Each campsite also has a gravel parking spur, table, fire ring and grill.

Forked Pine Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

The area is remote and beautiful, offering great views of the San Francisco mountains. Fishing at the lake (stocked for trout) is usually excellent when it isn’t too windy. Other outdoor activities include board sailing, OHV riding, horseback riding, hunting, hiking, mountain biking and wildlife viewing.

Other campgrounds in the area include Ashurst Lake, Pine Grove and Lakeview (Lake Mary).
