Big Bend Group (Yuba River) Overview

Big Bend Group (Yuba River) is a large group campground with 2 sites along the gentle South Yuba River in Tahoe National Forest. Lincoln and Victory are the names of the 2 different sites at Big Bend Group (Yuba River) Campground. Each site can have up to 25 guests and 5 vehicles. The max vehicle length is 22ft. This campground allows for RV, trailer, as well as tent camping. In addition, pine and fir trees provide shade for the sites and campground. There is good cell coverage here. This campground is also pet friendly. Big Bend Group Campground is open from mid June until mid October.

Amenities at this campground and the sites include picnic tables, grills, as well as fire pits and rings.  Also, there are vault toilets and drinking water. Some close by RV dump stations include Tahoe Donner Campground (23mi east), Peninsula Campground at Scotts Flat Lake (31mi west), and Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park (47mi west).

Big Bend Group (Yuba River)

The Tahoe National Forest is an 870,000-acre reserve in the northern Sierra Nevada mountains of California. It is popular for its rough landscapes, dense pine forests, and pristine alpine lakes. Some popular activities to do near the campground and the surrounding area are hiking, swimming, and fishing. The South Yuba River offers swimming and rainbow trout fishing. Also, the historic California Emigrant Trail and Loch Leven Trail are nearby. There is also biking/mountain biking, historical and cultural sites, photography, and stargazing. In addition, there are some off-highway vehicle trails. There is even gold panning.

Donner Lake is 15 miles east using historic Route 40/Lincoln Highway, the nation’s first transcontinental highway. Many points of interest lie along Route 40. These include China Wall, Rainbow Bridge, Sugar Bowl, Lake Van Norden and Ice Lakes. The Lake Valley Reservoir is about 25 mins away. Also, Lake Tahoe is about 40 mins away.

Some other campgrounds that you might like are Hampshire Rocks, Lodgepole, Sterling Lake, Meadow Lake, Tunnel Mills Group, Coyote Group, Lewis, Ridge, as well as Splitrock.
