Eureka Valley Overview
Eureka Valley Campground has 30 first-come first-served campsites and is next to the Stanislaus River (about 26 miles east of Pinecrest) in the Sierra Nevada. Most are sing-family campsites, but there area also 2 double sites ad 4 walk-to sites. The setting is relatively open, with little shade.
The seasonal campground is usually open mid April to mid October. Amenities incldue potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash collection (dumpsters). Firewood is also available to purchase from the friendly camp host. Each site also has a gravel parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. Cell service is not available.
Eureka Valley Campground – Area Recreation & Activities
The Stanislaus River is the main recreational attraction. A path near the campground host site leads down toward the river, providing access for fishing and a few nice swimming holes. Other recreation includes hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, stargazing and wildlife viewing.
Other campgrounds in the area include Baker and Deadman to the east, as well as Pigeon Flat and Dardanelle to the west.
