Frank Raines Regional Park Overview
Frank Raines Regional Park is a great place to enjoy some off roading and the great outdoors. In Stanislaus County, this park has 3 separate units. It consists of The Minnier Area which encompasses over 1,000 acres of undeveloped land. The Frank Raines Day Use Area offers lots of space for activities such as sports and hiking. RV, trailer, as well as tent camping are available at the Deer Creek Campground. This campground has 34 full hook up sites that can accommodate 8 guests and 2 vehicles per site. Each site allows for vehicles between 37ft and 80ft long, depending on the site. There are some trees which provide partial shade for the sites. This park closes for fire season but is open the rest of the year. This campground can accommodate pets as well for a small fee.
Amenities at the campground include potable water, restrooms, showers, as well as picnic tables. Also, there are fire pits, BBQs, and even a recreation hall. Cell service is poor to nonexistent. The closest dump stations are Love’s Travel Stop (17mi east), Kit Fox RV Park (17mi east), and Tracy Wastewater Treatment (45mi north).

There are plenty of things to do in this area. The Frank Raines Day Use Area has tons of amenities and space. It has picnic tables and shelter, a playground, a sports field, a volleyball court, as well as a horseshoe pit. The Frank Raines Off-Highway Vehicle Park provides over 800 acres for off-roading as well as a recreation hall. Down the road, the Minnier Area has over 1,000 acres designed for activities such as hiking, biking, horseback riding, as well as hunting. Deer and wild pigs are popular to hunt for in this area. The Off-Highway Vehicle Park is a great place for beginners as well as experienced riders with a variety of rigs. The terrain is steep and treacherous, and also features a mud bog that is full most of the year. Overheating can be a concern during the summer due to high temperatures.
