Woodward Reservoir Regional Park Overview
Woodward Reservoir Regional Park has 6 different campgrounds with a total of 192 campsites. Stanislaus County Parks and Recreation manages this park. This park offers over 3,700 acres of land and over 2,900 acres of reservoir. The 6 different campgrounds are T-Island, Hackberry Flat, Muir Point, Fischer’s Point, Charlie’s Point, as well as Mountain View Point. T-Island has 40, full-hookup sites. Hackberry Flat has 39, full-hookup sites. Muir Point has 19, full-hookup sites. Fischer’s Point as well as Charlie’s Point have 30 and 16, water-only hookup-sites. Mountain View Point has 48 general, non-hookup sites. Also, These campgrounds and campsites allow for RV, trailer, as well as tent camping. However, they do not recommend RVs and trailers at Fischer’s, Charlie’s, and Mountain View campsites. These sites are smaller and can only accommodate vehicles up to 15ft. As for the other 3 campgrounds, they can accommodate vehicles from anywhere between 15ft-108ft.
All sites can have up to 8 guests and 2 vehicles. Amenities at the sites, campgrounds, and park include fire pits, picnic tables, BBQs, restrooms, as well as picnic shelters. Also, there are concessions, a dump station, showers, boat launches/ramps, and a fish cleaning station. There is some/good cell service at the park. In addition, shade varies from each campground and campsite as some have shade and others don’t. Also, Woodward Reservoir Regional Park is pet-friendly but must be on a leash at all times. This park is also open year-round. Other than the dump station in the park, some other close by options include Tiger Express Chevron Service Station (10mi south) and Modesto Reservoir Regional Park (26mi southeast).

Some of the more popular things to do at this park are swimming, fishing, boating, as well as water/jet skiing. There is also hunting for waterfowl, kayaking, RC plane flying, as well as horseback riding. In addition, there is a Go Cart Track. They also host an awesome firework show and celebration on July 4th every year. There is also plenty of wildlife to see such as jackrabbits, burrowing owls, blue herons, and many more species.
Other parks and campgrounds you might like are Modesto Reservoir, Frank Raines OHV, La Grange OHV, as well as Laird.
