Peltier Bridge Primitive Overview

Peltier Bridge Primitive campground has 9 (tent only) campsites and is alongside Clear Creek and just south of Whiskeytown Lake.

Each site can have up to 6 guests as well as 2 vehicles. However, this campground allows for 2 tents per site. Also, the max vehicle length is 15ft. Some of the sites are hike-in sites, but only about 30ft. Alder and large canyon live oak trees provide shade for the sites. Also, this campground is pet friendly, but dogs must be on a leash at all times. Black bears frequent the area so all food and cooking supplies must be in bear proof lockers. There is good cell service here. This campground is open all year.

Amenities at this campground and sites are picnic tables, bear food lockers, fire pits, grills, as well as lamp poles. Also, there are vault toilets. There is drinking water available at the visitor center. There is also a trash collection service. The closest dump station options are Green Acres RV Park (13mi east), Marina RV Park (13mi east), and Win River Mini Mart (14mi southeast).

Peltier Bridge Primitive – Area & Recreation

There are many fun things to do at this campground and in the surrounding area. Some popular activities include swimming, kayaking, sailing, paddle boarding, as well as water skiing on the lake. Hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing, and even gold panning are other fun things to do. Hunting is also available during hunting season.

Some nearby places to visit are Brandy Creek Beach. It is 3.5 miles from the campground and has sandy beaches, a large swimming area, picnicking, as well as BBQ facilities. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, there are showers, a store with food and supplies, and rentals of paddle boards and kayaks.

Other campgrounds you might like are Sheep Camp Primitive, Dry Creek Group, Oak Bottom, as well as Brandy Creek.
