Redonda Vista Overview

Redonda Vista Campground is located about 3/4 mile from the South Shore of Lake San Antonio and has over 200 campsites (although a few loops may be permanently closed).  None of the sites have water views. Campsites 1-15, 20-31, 40-47, 300-334 and 340-355 are listed as having full hookups, although some may just have water and power. Sites 1-15 are reservable and the rest are first-come first-served.

Lake San Antonio Recreation Area features the 350,000 acre lake that has about 60 miles of shoreline. There are about 500 campsites in campground located on the south and north shore of the lake. The facility and campgrounds are operated by Monterey County Parks and is about 22 miles north of Paso Robles and 7 miles from Lake Nacimiento.

Campground amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault & flush toilets, showers, trash collection and a dump station.  There is also an amphitheater, playground and a special event facility (Oak Room) you can rent. The Lynch area (about a mile away) also has a boat ramp, boat trailer lot, picnic/day use area and playground. There also is a gas station/store, restaurant and laundry but these facilities look like they have not been open for awhile.   Cell service is poor in at South Shore and just a little better at North Shore.

Campsites have a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. Camp roads and parking spurs are paved but are getting a bit rough around the edges (needs repaving).

Redonda Vista Campground / Lake San Antonio – Outdoor Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation includes boating, fishing, water sports, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also good in the area with opportunities to see deer, turkey, peacocks and a variety of birds.

Other campgrounds on the South Shore include Harris Creek and Lynch. There is also one large campground on the North Shore.
