North Shore (Lake San Antonio) Overview

North Shore Campground has about 109 campsites in several loops near the shore of Lake San Antonio. Many sites have hookups (water & electric). There are also several dispersed (tent only) campsites along the shoreline.

Lake San Antonio Recreation Area features the 350,000 acre lake that has about 60 miles of shoreline. There are about 500 campsites in campground located on the south and north shore of the lake. The facility and campgrounds are operated by Monterey County Parks and is about 22 miles north of Paso Robles and 7 miles from Lake Nacimiento.

Campground amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault & flush toilets, showers, trash collection and a dump station.  The North Shore also has two boat ramps, picnic/day use areas

The South Shore area has two boat ramps (Harris Creek and Lynch). There are also picnic / day use areas and miles of hiking/biking trails.  Cell service is fair on the North Shore.

Campsites have a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. Camp roads and parking spurs are paved but are getting a bit rough around the edges (needs repaving).

North Shore Campground / Lake San Antonio – Outdoor Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation includes boating, fishing, water sports, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also good in the area with opportunities to see deer, turkey, peacocks and a variety of birds.

The Los Robles Equestrian Campground is also located on the North Shore. Other campgrounds on the South Shore include Harris Creek, Lynch and Redonda Vista.
