West Eagle Campground Lassen National Forest California

West Eagle Overview

West Eagle campground has 2 large group campsites right next to Eagle Lake in the Lassen National Forest.

One of the group sites can have up to 75 guests and 40 vehicles. The other site can have up to 100 guests and 40 vehicles. The minimum number of guests at these sites is 25. The max vehicle length at both sites is 40ft. West Eagle allows for RV, trailer, as well as tent camping. Also, plenty of pine trees provide shade for the sites. In addition, this campground is pet friendly. This campground has no cell service. West Eagle is open from mid May until the end of October. However, the sites are available on a first come first serve basis from early September until the end of October.

Amenities at this campground and the sites include picnic tables, fire rings and pits, as well as grills. There are also accessible flush toilets, electricity, as well as drinking water. In addition, firewood is available for purchase. There is also the Eagle Lake Marina about 1 mile away that has plenty of services. These services include rentals, showers, as well as a convenience store. A few sites offer sweeping views of the lake and some have space to moor a boat. The closest dump station options are Eagle Lake RV Park (17mi north), Merrill RV Dump Station (1.5mi west), and Manzanita Lake Campground dump station (78mi west).

West Eagle – Area & Recreation

The Lassen National Forest offers a variety of lakes, streams, and wilderness areas to explore.

There are many things to do at West Eagle. Some of the more popular activities include plenty of water sports like swimming, water skiing, sailing, and fishing. Trout fishing is very popular on Eagle Lake. Also, there is hiking, biking, as well as horseback riding on the nearby trails. Snowmobiling is also popular on the trails in Lassen National Forest during the winter.

Other campgrounds you might like are Aspen Grove, Eagle, Merrill, and Christie.
