Philipsburg Bay Campground Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest Montana

Philipsburg Bay Overview

Philipsburg Bay Campground has 65 spacious campsites and is located  in a forested area next to beautiful Georgetown Lake in Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. There are 34 reservable campsites and 31 that are first-come, first-served. Loop A and half of loop B are first-come, first-served. Loop C and half of Loop B can be reserved in advance during the summer season.

The campground is generally open mid May to late September.  Campground amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash collection. A boat ramp/trailer lot is conveniently located right at the campground. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host.  Cell service is good in the area.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site has a paved parking spur (up to 40 feet in length), table, fire ring and grill.  You can have up to 2 vehicles and 8 people per site. Hookups are not available.

Other campgrounds around the lake include Lodgepole, Piney, and Stuart Mill Bay.

Philipsburg Bay Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, water sports, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, hunting, OHV trail riding and wildlife viewing.

Georgetown Lake also has two marinas including Moose Marina and Lakeside at Georgetown Marina.
