Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest Overview

Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest is the largest National Forest in Montana, with over 3.4 million acres comprised of majestic mountains, rivers, streams, scenic byways, rangeland and wilderness areas.

There’s a variety of recreational opportunities across the dozen or so mountain ranges in the National Forest. Outdoor recreation includes camping, hiking, mountain biking, backpacking, fishing, rafting, kayaking, boating, hunting, horseback riding and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also spectacular with opportunities to see a variety of forest creatures.
