Fourmile Lake Overview
Fourmile Lake campground has 22 campsites in a forested area right next to the lake in the Fremont-Winema National Forest.
There are 15 single family sites and 7 double sites. Each single -amily site can have up to 6 guests and 1 vehicle. Each double site can have up to 12 guests and 2 vehicles. In addition, there is 1 site that is ADA accessible.
The campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site has a parking spur (ranging in length from 35 to 88 feet), table, fire ring and grill. Hookup sarenot available.
The campground is seasonal and generally open from early June until early September. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets, trash collection (dumpster), picnic / day use area, boat ramp and boat railer lot. Firewood is also available to purchase from the friendly camp host. Cell service is poor in the area. There are also stock-loading facilities and horse corrals available. Some close by RV dump stations include Diamond Lake Campground / Diamond Lake Resort area (83mi north), Topsy Campground RV Dump Station (36mi southeast), Collier Memorial State Park (49mi northeast), and Klamath Falls Dump Station / RV Resort (40mi southeast).
Fourmile Lake – Area & Recreation
The campground and day use area is at the southern end of Sky Lakes Wilderness area. The Sky Lakes Wilderness occupies 113,400 acres extending south from the boundary of Crater Lake National Park to Fourmile Lake. The wilderness has gentle, densely-forested terrain with occasional steep areas. There are many small lakes, most of them in several glacial basins near the crest of the Cascade Range. Several species of trees are in the area.
Some popular activities to do here are hiking, backpacking, climbing, as well as horseback riding. In addition, there is also kayaking, canoeing, rafting, fishing, and plenty of wildlife and nature viewing.
Lake of the Woods (24min) is another nearby lake with plenty of amenities, activities, and resort. Travel along the Volcanic Scenic Byway as you explore the surrounding area. The Kla-Mo-Ya Casino (1hr), Fort Klamath Museum (1hr), and Collier Memorial State Logging Museum (1hr) are all within driving distance. The Pacific Crest Trail and Crater Lake National Park (1hr) provide great opportunities for exploring too. The Upper Klamath Nation Wildlife Refuge is about 1hr away. It sits next to Upper Klamath Lake and offers plenty of recreational activities.
Other campgrounds you might like are Fourbit Ford, Willow Prairie Horse, North Fork, Doe Point, Aspen Point, as well as Whiskey Springs.
