Horsfall Sand Camping Siuslaw National Forest Oregon
Horsfall Sand Camping Overview
Horsfall Sand Camping has 36 reservable campsites in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. This includes both standard and group sites. Unlike a traditional campground, campers stay directly on the sand among towering coastal dunes. This is one of the best places in Oregon for off-highway vehicle (OHV) enthusiasts. Riders can access miles of open dunes and designated sand routes right from their campsite. The campground/area also offers beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, coastal forests, and nearby lakes.
Horsfall Sand Camping is open year-round. Every campsite is primitive. There are no hookups, drinking water, restrooms, picnic tables, or trash service within the camping area. Campers must bring their own drinking water, portable toilet, and fire pan. Also, guests have to pack out everything they bring in. In addition, every campsite is accessible only by four-wheel-drive vehicles traveling on soft sand.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs. Most campsites can have up to 20 guests and 5 vehicles. The 3 group sites can have up to 40 guests and 10 vehicles. The max vehicle length at all sites is 100ft.
