Cranesnest (Va) Overview

Cranesnest Campground has 31 campsites (including 19 with electric hookups) and is located in a forested along the Cranes Nest River.  The John W. Flannagan Reservoir is also nearby.

The campground is generally open mid May to mid September. Amenities include water, flush toilets, hot-water showers and trash collection. There’s also a boat ramp, playgrounds and picnic shelters nearby. Each campsite also has a paved parking spur (up to 50 feet), table, lantern post, fire ring and grill.  Cell service is poor in the area.

Cranesnest Campground – Area Recreation and Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
