Spring Canyon Campground Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area Washington

Spring Canyon Overview

Spring Canyon Campground has 78 campsites and is located on a hillside next to beautiful Lake Roosevelt. The campground stair-steps closer to the shore and most sites have spectacular views of the lake and surround area.  Though not directly next to the water, the camping area is a short walk from the lake. Two group sites are also available to reserve.

Spring Canyon is open year-round by reservation only. The lower loop remains open year-round while the upper loop is closed November 1 through March 31. Amenities include (potable) drinking water, flush and vault toilets, trash collection and a dump station. Firewood is available to purchase from the camp host. There’s also a boat ramp, picnic / day use area and a nice swim beach.  Cell service is good in the area.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs.  Each site also has a paved parking spur (ranging in length from 18 to 35 feet), table, fire ring and grill. Hookups are not available.

Spring Canyon Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, water sports, kayaking, paddle-boarding, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, stargazing and picnicking. The lake area is also abundant with wildlife, including moose, elk, deer, bighorn sheep, eagle, other birds and fish.

The famous Grand Coulee Dam is only three miles from the campground. A laser light show is displayed nightly on the dam from Memorial Day weekend through September 30. Additional services are available in the adjacent town of Grand Coulee.

Other campgrounds in the area include Fort Spokane, Hawk Creek and Kettle Falls.
