Greeson Lake Arkansas

Greeson Lake Overview

Lake Greeson is a man-made reservoir on the Little Missouri River in Pike County, Arkansas, about 6 miles north of Murfreesboro. It’s about 12 miles long and has a surface area of around 7,200 acres. It was created by Narrows Dam, constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers between 1947 and 1950 primarily for flood control and hydroelectric power; today its purposes also include recreation, water supply, conservation, fish & wildlife management, and water quality.

The lake is well known for excellent fishing. The tailwaters below Narrows Dam are also stocked with rainbow trout and offer good trout and smallmouth fishing.

There are about 30–45 miles of trails for hiking, nature walks and cycling, including the long Bear Creek Cycle Trail through scenic forests. Wildlife watching is also excellent, with opportunities to see deer, turkey, migratory birds, and bald eagles in winter.

Lake Greeson – Camping & Parks:

There are 11 campgrounds around the lake with hundreds of campsites, ranging from primitive to full-hookup sites.

Daisy State Park is also on the lake shore, with additional camping, yurt rentals, picnic areas, ATV and bike trails, and boat access.
