Mary Smith Overview

Mary Smith campground has 18 campsites and is next to Lewiston Lake in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.  Out of the 18 sites, 6 of them are glamping units. The other 11 sites are tent only. All sites can accommodate up to 8 guests as well as 1 vehicle. You can bring an extra vehicle for a $12 fee. There is plenty of privacy at each glamping site too. Also, every site offers views of Lewiston Lake. In addition, conifer and deciduous trees provide shade for the sites. There is very poor cell service. Pets can come too. Mary Smith Campground is open from the beginning of April until the end of September. First come first serve season is from the beginning of April until the middle of May.

Amenities at the campground include a camp host and parking area. The glamping sites have fire pits, picnic tables, as well as over-sized queen beds with feather down comforters and pillows. Linen service is also available. Also, each yurt includes rugs and boot benches. Just outside of the yurt there are armchairs and coffee tables. The tent only sites have picnic tables, fire pits and rings, as well as BBQs. There are also flush and vault toilets, as well as drinking water at the campgrounds. The closest dump station options are Trinity Alps RV Park (18mi west), Del Loma RV Resort Park & Campground (47mi west), and JGW RV Park (44mi southeast).

Mary Smith – Area & Recreation

There are many things to do at this campground and area. Some of the more popular activities include fishing, kayaking, hiking, as well as wildlife viewing. Rainbow, Brown, and Brook trout are catchable in the lake. Pine Cove boat ramp is within four miles. Fairview launching area on Trinity Lake is nine miles north. Also, there is a $12 day use fee charge at both Pine Cove and Fairview boat ramps. The speed limit for motor boats is 10mph.

Other campgrounds that you might like are Cooper Gulch, Ackerman, Minersville, as well as Alpine.
