Woodcamp Campground Tahoe National Forest California

Woodcamp Overview

Woodcamp Campground is next to scenic Jackson Meadow Reservoir and has 20 spacious campsites in a forested area.

The campground is generally open late May to mid October (weather permitting). Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush and vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host. Cell services is not available. There’s also a boat ramp, boat trailer lot and day use/picnic area in the area. A dump station is located at nearby Pass Creek campground.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a paved parking spur (20 to 40 feet in length), table, food storage locker (bear box), fire ring and grill.

Woodcamp Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

The adjacent 1,000-acre Jackson Meadow Reservoir offers excellent opportunities for boating, kayaking, water sports, swimming and fishing. Anglers will find rainbow and brown trout.  A designated swim beach is also nearby. The lake is an irrigation source, meaning its level will drop as the season progresses.

A portion of the Pacific Crest Trail meanders along the east side of the lake. It is open to hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding and provides opportunities for viewing wildlife. Hunting is also popular activities in the surrounding area. The area is also scenic in late spring and summer when wildflowers bloom in the meadows.

Other campgrounds in the are include Pass Creek, Fir Top, East Meadow, Jackson Point (Boat-In) and Silvertip (Group). Little Laiser Meadow Horse Campground is also nearby.
