Elk Rock State Park Overview

Elk Rock State Park Campground has 83 spacious campsites (about 60 with electric hookups) in a forested area near to Lake Red Rock. Equestrian campsites and 1 youth group campsite area also available.

The 83 campsites are situated among a hardwood forest and are suitable for tents, trailers and RVs.   There are about 60 sites with electric hookups and each site also a gravel parking spur, table, fire ring and grill.  Twenty-seven campsites are set up for equestrian camping and 18 of these have electric hookups.

The seasonal campground is usually open early April to late October. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault and flush toilets, showers, playground, trash collection (dumpsters) and an RV dump station. There is also a boat ramp, boat trailer lot and dock. Firewood is available to purchase from the camp host. Cell service is good in the area.

El Rock State Park  – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, water sports, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Winter sports include cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing.

Other campgrounds in the area include North Overlook, Roberts Creek Park, Wallashuck, Howell Station and Ivans.
