Greenough Lake Overview

Greenough Lake Campground has 18 single-family campsites and is located on the banks of Rock Creek in Custer Gallatin National Forest. Greenough Lake is also just 1/4 mile from the campground.

Campsites are suitable for tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a parking spur, table, food storage locker, fire ring and grate. Hookups are not available.

The seasonal campground is usually open early May to late September. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash collection (dumpsters). Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. Cell service is not available in the area.

Greenough Lake Campground – Area Recreation

The area is a popular location for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, ATVing and scenic driving. Glacier Lake, Hellroaring and Lake Fork trailheads are nearby.  Wildlife viewing is also fantastic in the area.

Other campgrounds in the area include Basin, Cascade, Rattin, Sheridan, Limber Pine and Parkside.
