Sheridan Overview

Sheridan Campground has 9 single-family campsites in a forested area on the banks of the Main Fork of Rock Creek. It is also about 5 miles south of Red Lodge.

Campsites are suitable for tents, trailers and RVs (up to 30 feet). Each site also has a gravel parking spur, food locker, table, fire ring and grate.

The seasonal campground is generally open mid May to early September. Amenities include potable (drinking water), vault toilets and trash collection (dumpsters). You can also purchase firewood from the camp host at Rattin campground. Cell service is poor in the area.

Sheridan Campground – Area Recreation

There is excellent fishing along the Main Fork of Rock Creek and Greenough Lake (8 miles away) is also popular for fishing, canoeing and kayaking. Other outdoor recreation includes hiking, biking, picnicking and ATVing. A variety of wildlife also frequent the area including grizzly bear, deer, elk and other forest creatures.

Other campgrounds in the area include Basin, Cascade, Limber Pine, Parkside and Greenough Lake.
