Haystack (East Shore) Overview

Haystack Campground (East Shore) has 23 single-family campsites and is located on the east shore of the Haystack Reservoir. Three group sites are also available.

Campsites are spacious and can accommodate tents, trailers and large RVs.  Interior roads and site parking pads are paved. Each campsite also has a parking spur, table, fire ring and grate.

The seasonal campground is usually open late April to early October. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, 5 vault toilets and trash collection (dumpsters). Firewood is also available for purchase from the camp host. A boat ramp is also near the campground. Cell service is good in the area.

The nearest RV dump station is about 7 miles west at The Cove Palisades State Park.

Haystack Campground (East Shore) – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the are includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting, OHV trail riding and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also good in the area.
