Updated Photos for Campgrounds in CA, AZ and NV

Hey Campers!
Looking forward to a great year of camping in 2025.  Wanted to let you know that we continue to update campgrounds with new photos of the campsites and facilities.  Here are some updated photos for campgrounds in CA, AZ and NV.

Arroyo Seco, Los Padres National Forest (CA)

Arroyo Seco Campground has 51 campsites and is located near the beautiful Arroyo Seco River in the Los Padres National Forest. Sites have great views of the surrounding Ventana Wilderness.  Group camping is also available.

Thornhill Broome, Point Mugu State Park (CA)

Thornhill Broome is one of two campgrounds in Point Mugu State Park and it offers 39 primitive campsites right next to the surf just north of Malibu, California. All of the campsites have unobstructed views of the beach and Pacific Ocean. Each campsite parking spot measures 12 feet wide by 31 feet long. Vault toilets are available and there are also a few water spigots in the campground.

Wheeler Gorge, Los Padres National Forest (CA)

Wheeler Gorge Campground has 69 single-family campsites situated around Matilija Creek and surrounded by mountains in the Los Padres National Forest. Some of the campsites are along the road and others next to the creek. A few are big enough for larger trailers and RVs but most are best for tent camping. FYI – the campground was named for Wheeler C. Blumberg who operated a hot spring spa 2 miles down the canyon.

Serrano, San Bernardino National Forest (CA)

Serrano Campground is about 1/4 mile from Bear Lake’s north shore and has 116 spacious campsites set in a beautiful pine forest setting. The campground is located across the road from Big Bear Lake but none of the sites have water views. Thirty of the campsites in the Snowberry loop have full hookups. Campground amenities include drinking water, restrooms with flush toilets and sinks, hot-water showers and a dump station.  A boat launch ramp is also located nearby the campground.

McWilliams, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest (NV)

McWilliams Campground has 75 spacious campsites and is located near the Lee Canyon Ski area at an elevation of 8,300 feet.  It’s also 50 miles from downtown Las Vegas, NV so you’ve got that going for you. The campground is usually open mid May to mid October, but sites 1-14 are available all year. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host.

Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area, Arizona Strip (AZ)

The Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area has the only developed campground you will find on the Arizona Strip, along highway 15 between Mesquite Nevada and St. George Utah. The campground has 111 developed campsites on a hill above the river in the Virgin River Gorge. All sites have great views of the colorful cliffs and rocky canyons. Group camping is also available.
