Hutchins Group Campground Plumas National Forest California

Hutchins Group Overview

Hutchins Group A Camping Area

Hutchins Group Campground has 3 campsites and is near Bucks Lake in the Plumas National Forest.  The area around the campsites has some large pine trees but the surrounding area was burned by recent fires.

Each of the three group sites (A-B-C) can have up to 25 people and 8 vehicles.  The maximum vehicle length is 27 feet. Each site has tables, bear boxes, tables and grills.

The campground is generally open early June to early October. Potable (drinking) water is not available but you can fill up at the  Sandy Point Day Use Area or Haskins Campground.  Vault toilets and trash dumpsters are provided. Cell service is not available. A roving campground host is available intermittently to answer questions and provide additional information.

There are also several boat ramps available around the perimeter of the 1,820-acre lake, including the closest one to Hutchins, at Sandy Point. A convenience store with gas, phone and propane is located within five miles of the campground.
