Gold Bar Group Sites Overview

Gold Bar Group Campground has 4 reservable group sites located right along the Colorado River in a beautiful red rock canyon. Single-family campsites are also available (first-come, first-serve) next door at Gold Bar Recreation Site campground.

The campground is open year-round. Amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. A boat ramp is also next to the campground and provides access to the Colorado River. Cell service is not available in the area.

Each group sites have tables, fire ring and grills. Sites A, B and C also have shade shelters. Site B has a hammock structure that can accommodate numerous hammocks. Site D does not have a shade shelter, but is ideal for groups with motorhomes.

• Group Site A: up to 50 people and 10 vehicles
• Group Site B: up to 30 people and 10 vehicles
• Group Site C: up to 90 people and 25 vehicles
• Group Site D: up to 30 people and 10 vehicles

Gold Bar Group Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes rock climbing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, fishing, picnicking, stargazing, mountain biking and OHV trail riding. Wildlife viewing can also be good.

The Colorado River is about 200 feet from the campground and you’ll need to walk through brush to get to the water.  The Corona Arch Trailhead is also just across the street from the campground.

Rock petroglyphs can be viewed along the drive to the recreation site and the nearby Poison Spider Mesa offers an interpretive dinosaur track trail. Visitors enjoy the nearby mountain biking and OHV trails.

Other campgrounds in the area include Williams Bottom, Jaycee Park and Kings Bottom.

Both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are also nearby.
