Haag Cove Campground Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area Washington

Haag Cove Overview

Haag Cove Campground has 18 campsites and is in a nice little cove on the west side of Lake Roosevelt (Columbia River).  Most sites are in a forested are but have sweeping views of the lake.

The campground is generally open early January through September. Amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. Potable (drinking) water is not available. Cell service is fair in the area. There is not a boat ramp at this campground. The nearest boat ramp is at French Rock (5.5 miles south of campground).

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Sites 13 to 18 are tent only / walk-to (about 70 to 150 feet from the parking area. Each of the other campsites (1 to 12)  also have a gravel parking spur, and all have a table, fire ring and grill. The parking spurs range in length from 22 to 36 feet.

Haag Cove Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, water sports, hiking, biking and picnicking. The area is also abundant with wildlife, including moose, elk, deer and bald eagles.

The area is rich in the history of American Indians as well as the fur trade; campers can learn more at a park visitor center in Kettle Falls.

Other campgrounds in the area include Kettle Falls, Snag Cove, Kamloops Island, Marcus Island and Locust Grove Group.
