Mustang Ridge Overview

Mustang Ridge Campground has 68 spacious campsites set just above beautiful Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Ponderosa pines and juniper provide decent shade and privacy between sites. One group site (up to 40 people) is also available.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a parking spur (ranging in size from 35 to 80 feet), table, fire ring and grill.  Hookups are not available.

The campground is generally open mid May to late September. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault and flush toilets, hot water shower and trash collection. Firewood can also be purchased from the friendly camp host. Cell service is good in the area. You can shower up over at Deer Run campground. The Mustang Ridge boat launch area is also about a mile from the campground. It has a boat ramp, boat trailer lot and boat slips.

Mustang Ridge Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and scuba diving are popular activities on the reservoir.

Nearby Bear Canyon Trail offers an easy 3-mile round-trip trail for hiking and mountain biking. The trail also leads to views of Red Canyon and Flaming Gorge.

Flaming Gorge Dam also offers guided tours of the working hydroelectric plant and the dam. The visitor center is also adjacent to the dam.

Other campgrounds in the area include Firefighters, Deer Run, Cedar Springs and Arch Dam Group.
