Firefighters Campground Ashley National Forest Utah

Firefighters Overview

Firefighters Campground 037

Firefighters (Memorial) Campground has 94 spacious campsites and is located just 3 miles from beautiful Flaming Gorge Reservoir. About 60 sites are reservable and the rest are first-come, first-served.  The campground serves as a memorial to three firefighters (Gene Campbell, Dwight Hodgkinson and Dave Noel) who lost their lives in the 1977 Cart Creek Fire.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Ponderosa pines and juniper provide decent shade. Each site also has a paved parking spur (ranging in size from 30 to 50 feet), table, fire ring and grill.  Hookups are not available.

The campground is generally open mid May to late September. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, flush toilets, trash collection (dumpsters) and an RV dump station. Cell service is good in the area. You can shower up over at Deer Run campground. The Cedar Springs Marina (3 miles away) also has a small store, bar/grill, boat ramp, boat trailer lot, boat slips, boat/kayak rentals and fishing cleaning station.
